One thing to remember about a project like this is that it can be offered for guests’ signatures at almost any stage of construction. You can put out the pieced and quilted quilt for guests to sign, provide the quilt pieced but unquilted, or even distribute unsewn shapes for people to sign – and do the sewing after the wedding. Black Pigma® Micron® pens (not too fine) or other permanent markers work best for signage. If you want that old-fashioned look, try sepia ink instead of black. You can view a host of heirloom signature quilts for further inspiration at The Quilt Index.
